    This macroalgae starter pack for the reef display tank is a great choice for you when you just started to enrich your marine aquarium with marine algae and/or if you want to save some money to start with. This set will provide you 4 different marine macroalgae frags, which are smaller than our normal live algae species, but still perfectly suited to start successfully your very own macroalgae tank and all safe to be placed in the reef display tank.  Please keep in mind that those are starter algae frags and that they will be small, but therefore you get new macro algae species for the reef tank for just £3.75 each algae species.

    This macro algae will arrive unattached. If you prefer it already attached to a zoa cone please add the amount of cones you need HERE.

    Please have in mind that this offered macroalgae starter pack will include marine algae which we will choose for you and that the algae shown on the picture are just an example of the selection of beautiful marine macroalgae we offer within the UK.

    Treatment
    Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.

    If the macroalgae is not growing as expected a special formulated fertiliser for the marine aquarium can help to improve the growth of the macroalgae. Please find a selection of supplements for the marine aquarium HERE

    Our macroalgae are from fish free macro algae tanks, although we use sometimes pictures for demonstration purposes only which will include fishes, seahorses and or corals. 
    We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts. 

    All macro algae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

    We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.

      Hi Jack. Thank you for your message. When a starter pack is bought together with other macroalgae we will always try to add other macroalgae species for you and we normally pack them as they come.
      When you buy two packs it might be that you get some similar algae species.

      I would recommend adding macroalgae when the tank is established and you have the fishes already in for a while.
      As with them your tank normally will have enough nitrate and phosphate the macroalgae will need to grow. The other nutrients macroalgae will need to grow you normally will have enough when you do normal water changes.
      In other words no need for any fertilizer :) Just in a macroalgae only tank, or where nitrate is below 2ppm / or phosphate below 0.02 it will beneficial to use a fertilizer or a special supplement to replace the used nutrients.
