    Solieria spp. or often just called Red Bamboo is an interesting different looking marine macroalgae. It has bright to dark red long canes which wich will split at the end and grow on in further canes. This live alga can grow more than 20-30cm long and it will be a perfect addition to the reef display tank and Seahorse Aquarium.

    This macro algae will arrive unattached. If you prefer it already attached to a zoa cone please add the amount of cones you need HERE.

    Light
    The Solieria spp. macroalgae prefers a place in the marine aquarium with low to medium lighting. 

    Palatable
    Larger herbivore fishes like tangs may eat this live algae, but smaller fishes have problems biting it.  If you have larger herbivore fishes we recommended to keep it in a safe place until you like to offer it as additional food to your fishes.

    Attaching
    As this macroalgae won't attach itself it can be easily glued ( we use thick cyanoacrylate super glue ) to rock where you like to have it.

    Trimming
    When trimming is necessary we recommend cutting this macroalgae instead of breaking it off, as it won't damage the algae too much.

    Treatment
    Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.

    If the macroalgae is not growing as expected a special formulated fertiliser for the marine aquarium can help to improve the growth of the macroalgae. Please find a selection of supplements for the marine aquarium HERE 

    Other
    The tips of this algae will appear whitish when it grows. Just when you see the older parts of the branch turning white please remove this part, as it is decomposing.

    Our macroalgae are from fish free macro algae tanks, although we use sometimes pictures for demonstration purposes only which will include fishes, seahorses and or corals. 
    We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts. 

    All macro algae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

    We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.
