    The Gracilaria Mammillaris macroalgae is a beautiful red marine algae species which features deep to bright red coloured sheets which look like large leaves. The Gracilaria Mammillaris macro algae will attach itself easily to rockwork.

    A great macroalgae for the Display Tank, where it will surely become fast a colourful highlight. The dense structure of this livealgae offers as well good hiding space for copepods and rotifers.

    Light
    This colour of the Gracilaria Mammillaris macroalgae will vary depending on the light provided. It will become darker when it gets less light, and brighter when it gets more light.

    Palatable
    Herbivore marine fishes love to nip on this macroalgae species. Therefore it will be better to keep this marine alga in a safe place, for example in the refugium, until you like to offer it as additional food to your fishes.

    Attaching
    The Gracilaria Mammillaris macroalgae will attach itself easily but it can be as well  superglued (we use thick cyanoacrylate super glue) to a piece of rock where you like to have it. Normally it will be good to be placed in between some rockwork and it will attach itself within a few days.

    Treatment
    Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.

    Our macroalgae are from fish free macro algae tanks, although we use pictures for demonstration purposes only which will include fishes, seahorses and or corals. 
    We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts. 

    All macroalgae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

    We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.
