    The Codium macroalgae is a true all-rounder for the marine aquarium. Not fuzzy regards the light or current and very beautiful looking. Codium has a great dark main structure, which develops irregularly into cylindrical branches. Along its branches it develops soft fuzzy filaments which a lot of fishes love to eat. A perfect macroalgae for Seahorses too, as it will add natural holdfasts for them.

    This macro algae will arrive unattached. If you prefer it already attached to a zoa cone please add the amount of cones you need HERE.

    Light
    The Codium marine macroalgae is very flexible regarding the light. It will do best in low to medium strong light.

    Palatable
    For fishes most interesting is the young filaments of this macro algae. The main structure of the algae seems though just very rarely eaten.

    Attaching
    This macroalgae will not attach itself, so you can just let it flow around or place it in between some rock.

    Trimming
    Light green and very soft parts of the Codium macroalgae should be removed as they are decomposing.

    Treatment
    Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.

    If the macroalgae is not growing as expected a special formulated fertiliser for the marine aquarium can help to improve the growth of the macroalgae. Please find a selection of supplements for the marine aquarium HERE

    Our macroalgae are from fish free macro algae tanks, although we use pictures for demonstration purposes only which will include fishes, seahorses and or corals. 
    We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts. 

    All macro algae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

    We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.

    I am new to the world of macro algae but found the information on this website and their social media platforms invaluable. Ordering was simple and I have to say Manfred who handled everything was a pleasure to talk to. The algae arrived exactly when he said it would, well packaged and looking really healthy and fresh. It came with a step by step guide on how to acclimate it. It's now in the refugium so up to me now to keep it growing !! I will definently purchase again.

    Packaging was exceptional! honestly was really sweet, didn't expect the packet of sweets either! very kind, everything was secure, only one of the Codiums I ordered had come of its frag but was easily able to attack to my rock instead, overall amazing and will definitely be ordering from here a lot more and a lot more frequently xx
