    Gracilaria Parvispora

The Gracilaria Parvispora, or often called Birds Nest / Red Ogo marine macroalgae is a beautiful looking red macroalgae species for the reef display tank. A perfect choice especially when it inhabits herbivore Fishes & Seahorses as this macroalgae species grows faster than most other Gracilaria marine algae species and offers not just a beautiful look, colour and structure but also a great food source for Tang, Foxface and co and natural holdfast for Seahorses.

This macro algae will arrive unattached. If you prefer it already attached to a zoa cone please add the amount of cones you need HERE.

Gracilaria Parvispora - Birds Nest Marine Macroalgae

Premium marine macro algae for the Planted Reef Display Tank & Refugium for sale on Live Algae UK.
Your 1st choice for clean Marine Macroalgae from Fish & Copper free tanks since 2014.

This beautiful red macroalgae species features a long stringy structure  and grows decently fast and can reach a length of up to 10-30 cm. The colouration of this macro algae varies between red to burgundy, which can turn sometimes more bright coloured when it gets a lot of light.

The Gracilaria Parvispora - Birds Nest macroalgae prefers a place with moderate to medium strong light and can be placed in deeper / shadier places in the marine display tank or refugium.

This live algae is widely eaten by a lot of herbivore fish species, like Tang & Foxfish. Therefore it is recommended to keep it in a safe place until you like to offer it as additional food to your fishes.

As this algae won't attach itself it can be easily glued ( we use thick cyanoacrylate super glue ) to rock where you like to have it.

Whitish parts of this marine algae should be removed as they are decomposing. More brighter new growth is a sign of too much light often.

Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.

If the macroalgae is not growing as expected a special formulated fertiliser for the marine aquarium can help to improve the growth of the macroalgae. Please find a selection of supplements for the marine aquarium HERE

Gracilaria Parvispora - Red Ogo macroalgae grows well in low to medium strong waterflow

    Please note
Our macroalgae are from fish free macro algae tanks, although we use sometimes pictures for demonstration purposes only which will include fishes, seahorses and or corals.

We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts.

All macro algae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.

We aim to offer you the healthiest and best quality macro algae on the market, therefore, all of our macro algae comes with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
