Gracillaria Curtissae Red Marine Macroalgae Expand

Gracilaria Curtissae

New

The Gracilaria Curtissae macro algae is beautiful red marine algae species. It features deep red branches which will form a symmetrical bush. Gracilaria species are slow growing and need a long time to attach themself.
A great alga for the Marine Tank Display, where it will become surely fast a highlight and it might compete when it comes to the beauty of it with a lot of marine corals.

Gracilaria Curtissae Marine Macro Algae

Light
This colour of the Gracilaria Curtissae algae will vary depending on the light its get. It will become darker when it gets less light, and brighter when it gets more light.

Palatable

Herbivore marine fishes love to nip on this macroalgae. Therefore it will be better to keep this marine alga in a safe place, for example in the refugium, until you like to offer it as additional food to your fishes.

Attaching
As Gracilaria Curtissae won't easily attach itself it can be easily glued ( we use thick cyanoacrylate super glue ) to rock where you like to have it, or just place it in between your rockwork and it will attach itself after a few weeks.

Treatment
Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this macro algae.

Please note
We go do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae. But we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can be still stay hidden in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts.
We highly recommend therefore that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.

The images on this page are for example only, actual product appearance may vary.

We aim to offer you the healthiest and best quality macro algae on the market.

Good Afternoon I have a massive out break of Gracilaria Curtissae that has taken over about 75% of my tank.Where it came from ive no idea,i presume on a piece of live rock. Every time i i cut it back it just keeps on growing. Can you please suggest anything that will eat it ?my tank is 4ft x2ft x 2ft ...250l.p.s. i live in South Wales but i live long Leeds fan and have driven up and down Elland rd many times,so where are you situtaed on Elland rd? Next time im up there for rthe football ill pop in and take a look. many thanks Ian Answer:
Hi. That is quite very uncommon. The Gracilaria species we have is not invasive at all, and we keep it since years without any problems. Could you please send us two pictures of the algae in your tank, with one macro shot of, if possible? Let's see how we can help you with this. Kind regards
