    The Botryocladia - Red Grape macroalgae is with its vibrant deep red coloured grapes an eye catcher in the marine reef tank and in high demand. It is a non-invasive, beautiful looking algae which will look amazing in any marine aquarium, as a medium fast growing algae species it is perfect for Nano-Tank, Reef-Tank and for the Seahorse Tank, as it will provide great holdfasts for Seahorses too.

    Light
    The Botryocladia - Red Grape marine algae prefers a place in the aquarium with just medium strong light. When the bubbles turn paler it is often a sign of too much light.

    Palatable
    The grapes of this macroalgae seem to be very tasty for a lot of marine algae eating fish species, therefore it is recommended to keep it in a safe place until you like to offer it as additional food to your fish.

    Attaching
    As this marine algae won't attach itself it can be easily glued ( we use thick cyanoacrylate super glue ) to rock where you like to have it.

    Trimming
    Whitish parts of the Botryocladia macroalgae should be removed as they are decomposing.

    Treatment
    Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.
    If the macroalgae is not growing as expected a special formulated fertiliser for the marine aquarium can help to improve the growth of the macroalgae. Please find a selection of supplements for the marine aquarium HERE

    Placement
    This macroalgae can be either placed in the Refugium where it would need an enclosed space or in the marine Display Tank.

    Our macroalgae are from fish free macroalgae tanks, although we use pictures for demonstration purposes only which will include fishes, seahorses and or corals. 
    We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts. 

    All macro algae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

    We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.

    Looks even better than the picture and the shipping to Copenhagen, DK, is honestly wonderful. I have no issue getting the algae to grow, I do not have proper lighting right now but the algae is in a nano tank for live food culturing, so I just added plenty of nutrients to the water-column and there is no decline in the algae or any white parts.
